An Ongoing Process

So I've started the Logo process and it is just that...a process! John Dennis, our preacher from church, is a design guru and computer genius! At least from my perspective. He has graciously taken on the task of helping me to develop my logo for the business. Not only that, but he also does web design! So you know where this is going. Anyway, after I threw some initial ideas at him, he began playing around and came up with the idea of building off "1K" words. This is partially because most all forms of "A Thousand Words Photography" were taken up in the dot-com world. However, Worth1KWords.com is not taken and is actually the site I purchased. (If you try and go there, it will take you directly to the GoDaddy link since I've only purchased the link and haven't actually started working on the website-FYI.) So (breath) the pictures show you the initial ideas on designs for the logo. I'm not completely set on any of them, as there are things I like and don't like about each. I plan on doing my web-page with a black background, and possibly my business cards as well, so that is why all of them are set against the black. I'm not sure about the color sceme either. Any comments you could offer would be great! John, of course, is being extremely patient with me (thank goodness), and is really trying to make my ideas come to life on paper-so to speak. He also has some other ideas as well that we'll be playing around with in the near future. Look forward to hearing what you all have to say!

Beginnings

Well, my first post and the beginning of a new adventure! I'm obviously in the beginning stages of starting up the business, but am very excited about sharing the journey with you. Oh, and giving you an outlet for viewing my online portfolio. I have been pretty busy lately between studying my course material through the New York Institute of Photography and setting up "practice" photo-sessions with the guinea pigs around the neighborhood! Thanks to all who have been willing participants. Not only do I greatly appreciate it, but my boys also thank you. For I fear they have worn tired of mom's constant efforts at obtaining the "perfect" head shot and I may have caused partial blindness in our first born. ("Look, Mommy, see that...lights!" he exclaims to me, pointing to the 'nothing-ness' in the air where I soon concure with my husband to be the after effects of my flash bulb!) Anyway, cheers to my first post and more headway on making dreams a reality.
